Keegan Allen, known for his role as Toby Cavanaugh in Pretty Little Liars, uploaded a shocking video to Instagram on the night of October 8, showing himself breathless and covered in blood.
“I was just robbed of my watch outside of Laurel supply,” Allen said, before turning away from the camera to ask someone to call the police. “These two dudes hit me in the head and pointed a gun at me, with a knife. They had masks on. They took my watch.”
Allen inserted CCTV footage from the incident taken by a nearby camera, which showed two men dressed in dark clothing approaching the actor near a truck. After Allen handed over his watch, one of the men struck him in the head twice, with both thieves quickly fleeing the scene.
In the caption of his Instagram post, Allen urged Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom to take action as the state's general election approaches.
“West Hollywood is not safe anymore,” he wrote. “Robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint by two young men that threatened to KILL me over my watch and would have! God said [not] tonight. My life for a watch. Will update more soon. Let’s hope all these flock cameras that @karenbassla @gavinnewsom and everyone thinks will stop crime can find these very dangerous criminals. God bless.”
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's office published a statement about the crime that recounted the attack: "One suspect pointed a silver handgun at the victim while the other pointed a knife and demanded the victim's watch and bracelet. Shortly after, the victim was struck in the face with the handgun."
The crime took place at Laurel Supply, a high-end organic grocery store and market on 8445 Santa Monica Blvd. Thus far, no arrests have been made, and individuals with information about the incident are encouraged to contact authorities at the sheriff's West Hollywood station at (310) 855-8850.
Allen’s bloody video has gone viral, racking up over 135,000 likes in the hours since he posted it last night. Fans are showing up in droves to give their support to the actor, urging him to get checked for a possible concussion and many admitting to initially being mistaken that he was wearing makeup for a new project.
Allen is also known for portraying Liam Walker in the CW’s Walker, a reimagining of Chuck Norris’s Walker, Texas Ranger. Most recently, Allen played Ian Coleman in Season 8 of The Rookie.
